In early November, Help in Change launched our new initiative, “Lace up and move”. And we made quite an entrance by taking part in the challenging 10km Höstrusket run.
“Lace up and move” originated from our belief that physical activity and enjoying the outdoors are integral to the process of integrating into Swedish society – the Help in Change's main mission. While our primary focus remains on assisting Ukrainian newcomers in Sweden with their professional and language development, we also recognize the importance of physical and psychological resilience. Additionally, fostering social connections and making new friends through exercise and sports activities is equally essential.
On the 4th of November, we laced up our running shoes and conquered a 10-kilometer running distance! A big shoutout to Marathongruppen for generously providing free passes for Ukrainians, making this achievement possible.
The run took place on a classic running course at Norra Djurgården, starting and finishing at Fisksjöängsvägen. Despite the pouring rain, our team of 10 crossed the finish line with impressive results.
Each participant received Höstrusket medals from the organizers, and we also presented them with vibrant sports T-shirts that we presented to the participants in memory of this sports morning with us.
Thanks again to Marathongruppen and to everyone who joined us, charging this day with their energy!
This fantastic beginning marks the start of many more races and activities to come! Stay tuned for an exciting series of upcoming events that promise to be even more thrilling. Let's continue this journey of sport, activity, and community together!
