On October 17th, we hosted a heartwarming and inspiring presentation of our book "Okuvliga", created by authors Anna Zoteeva and Oksana Basta.
This beautifully illustrated collection tells the stories of 15 Ukrainians who, like thousands of others, had their lives changed forever by the war in Ukraine (more about the book). Thanks to the cozy atmosphere of Interbok bookstore, we were able to create a comfortable setting for open discussion and reflection.
Anna and Oksana shared the incredible journey of developing "Okuvliga" —from finding the protagonists whose stories form the heart of the book, to the unique challenges of writing and publishing in Sweden.
The authors and our heroines also engaged with the audience, discussing the importance of preserving these stories as a historical record and a testament to resilience. Our guests were deeply moved by the experiences shared, and we were glad to see many thoughtful questions and meaningful conversations throughout the evening.
Each guest had the opportunity to take home a signed copy of "Okuvliga", a lasting reminder of the evening and the strength of those whose stories it holds.
We thank Interbok and everyone who came to support this important project, and we hope this book continues to shed light on the journey of Ukrainian refugees rebuilding their lives.
If you want to have the book "Okuvliga" on your bookshelf or would like to give it to Swedish or Ukrainian friends, please place an order on our website.
