On November 27, Scania Group's facility in Södertälje welcomed participants from the Youth Care in Change project for an immersive and inspiring visit. This experience was more than just a visit, it was an incredible journey into the heart of Scania's innovation, vision, culture, and values. Through interactive sessions, the Ukrainian youth engaged directly with Scania's professionals and Talent Acquisition team, gaining valuable insights into the company's operations, career opportunities. Moreover, the participants had the chance to see the manufacturing of the iconic Scania trucks. This dynamic exchange inspired and propeled the Youth Care in Change participants towards new horizons and potential job opportunities.
Our visit to Scania in Södertälje was an exciting adventure. Youth Care in Change participants learned about the company's operations, discovered its history at the Scania Museum, discussed career opportunities with the Talent Acquisition team, explored the unique aspects of Scania's work in Ukraine, and took part in an engaging Chassi guided tour.
Natalia Melnychuk and Perry Johansson greeted our participants with a presentation on Scania's current activities. Perry Johansson introduced our participants to Scania's corporate culture, sharing the secret of how the company engages with its employees and motivates them to stay with the organization for many years.

Perry Johansson recounted the success story and development of Scania, detailing how the company became a leading manufacturer of trucks, buses, and industrial, and marine engines. He discussed the principles they adhere to for achieving higher results and elaborated on how Scania has created a sustainable transport system
Then we were invited to a guided tour at the Scania museum, where Perry Johansson and Aarne Laine provided detailed insights into the company's development. They shared Scania's history, starting from the production of bicycles and railway carriages. Our participants had a unique opportunity to observe the transportation produced by Scania throughout its entire history and learned more about the latest innovations, such as V8 engines for industrial trucks.
Additionally, our participants got an experience of testing Scania trucks and felt like real drivers as they stepped inside the truck cabins.
Talent Acquisition

Then, our participants had the opportunity to meet the Talent Acquisition Team : Thorsin Hugo and Eva Kingborn, who shared insights into how the recruitment process works and provided information about the average employee's experience at Scania. The team also presented the Talent Acquisition - Road Map 2023+, which showed vision, mission, target state and focus areas, as well as job opportunities at Scania. After the presentation, the participants asked questions to the Talent Acquisition Team, gaining a better understanding of how they can apply to Scania according to their level of education and experience.

After an intensive first part of our visit, we were treated to a lunch organized by the Scania Group. The participants had lunch at the same table as the Scania team, which gave everyone a chance to speak in an informal atmosphere.
Scania Ukraine
Håkan Jyde, CEO of Scania Ukraine, gave a fascinating presentation on Scania's activities in Ukraine. Håkan explained the development path of Scania Ukraine, which regions of Ukraine have Scania branches and most importantly how Scania met the invasion of Russia and how it continues to function now and support Ukrainians.
It was an informative and very important presentation, which proves Sweden's close co-operation and support for Ukraine.
Attending the Guided tour at Chassi
The conclusion of this incredible event was the Guided tour at Chassi. Perry Johansson and Aarne Laine took our participants on the tour to gain an in-depth understanding of the technology and engineering behind Scania's vehicle mobility solutions. From a detailed look at innovative designs to a discussion of technical specifications, this stage allowed our participants to get even closer to the unique aspects of the transport solutions offered by Scania. More than just a tour, it was a fascinating immersion into the engineering world behind Scania's outstanding transport solutions, and, most importantly, our participants had the opportunity to see first-hand how Scania trucks are assembled and tested.
